Bremerton Police Department is Hiring!

The Bremerton Police Department began serving the City in 1901 and today the Bremerton Police Department is made up of a sworn personnel staff of 59, including a Chief of Police, two Captains, three Lieutenants, eight Sergeants, eight Corporals and 37 Officers.

Starting salary is $32.51 per hour. Benefits include: medical/dental, retirement, deferred compensation and life insurance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must meet required physical and medical standards and all civil service requirements.
  • A valid Washington State driver's license is required. No major traffic convictions in the past 3 years. No more than 2 at-fault accidents or minor convictions (or any combination of the 2) in the past 3 years.
  • Applicant must be 21 years of age by appointment date.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete the Washington State Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Training Academy with-in 1 year of hire.

How to Apply

Applicants must apply through Public Safety Testing (PST). PST will administer the Written Exam and Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Contact them directly at 866-HIRE-911 or visit the Public Safety Testing website. Applicants passing the PST examinations will be sent a city application. To be considered for the oral examination, applicants must submit a city application and resume. The top qualifying applicants will be invited to participate in the oral examination.
