Oyster Bay Ave N 24-in Transmission Main

Project Status (Updated September 17, 2018)

Nova Contracting is currently operating on schedule for this project. Nova mobilized on site and began the work on May 7, 2018. Completion is expected by the end of September.

The main transmission pipe (approximately 2500 feet) has been installed and is online as of September 5, 2018. Final paving is currently underway with full completion anticipated by the end of September.   

Project Overview

The City of Bremerton (City) plans to replace an existing steel 24” water transmission main starting at the outlet of Reservoir 4 along Sound Ridge Drive to the north end of the car dealerships along Oyster Bay Avenue N. The new pipe will be ductile iron. The old pipe is 75 years old and has reached it’s useful life expectancy.  

The design consultant is RH2 Engineering of Tacoma, WA. The Contractor that was selected (based on lowest bid) was NOVA Contracting of Olympia, WA.


The overall project budget for this project is $2,400,000, including design, construction, etc. The construction bid came in considerably under the budgeted amount at $1,084,124.90. The project will be delivered under budget.


Construction started on May 7, 2018. The new 24” water main was installed and on-line as of September 5, 2018. Final completion is anticipated by the end of September.
